Q: What's the difference between a violin & a viola anyway?
A: A violin's body measures no more than 14" in length and it has a sweeter, higher
sound. It is the Soprano of the orchestra. The violin reads in TREBLE CLEF (also known as the G-Clef)
A "full-sized" viola is generally the 16" viola. However they
do come larger. The bigger body of the viola gives it a more mellowed tone and a lower sound compared to the violin.
The viola mainly reads in ALTO CLEF (also known as C-Clef), and it is the only instrument that reads in this clef nearly 100%
of the time.

Q: What if my son/daughter's instrument is really out of tune?
A: This is not something I would recommend a parent to do, unless they are musicians
themselves. this can risk the strings or the instrument breaking.
Just leave it for the school teacher or myself to tune when we see your child.
Q: What if my son/daughter breaks their instrument?
A: If strings are broken, I recommend leaving the instrument alone until their
next lesson or rehearsal at school. I
If it happens in a crunch I recommend going to your local music store.
They will replace your string for you.
If the actual instrument breaks, please do not try and fix it yourself!!
Take it to your local music store for repair ASAP!
