Founded in 2006, Open Strings was created for the
enjoyment of the public.
Jeannine Sturm & Irynn Somera had met due to tragic circumstances. Jeannine's boyfriend had
passed away in February 2006, and thru his death, she met Irynn, who was a friend of his. The two women both began their
musical careers on violin and later changed over to the viola. They found they had a lot in common. Jeannine
soon began to teach herself the cello while recovering from foot surgery. Although Jeannine resides on Long
Island and Irynn in Rockland County they were still willing to create at duo for the love of music.

We look to bring beautiful string music to your lives. Music is what we live on. It is our world, and our passion.
